Controller
Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000
Location: Chico, CA
Job type: Hybrid
Essential Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Finance Department
- Develop policies for GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
- Oversee accounting systems and financial reporting
- Produce accurate monthly financial statements and commentary
- Conduct financial analysis and profitability assessment
- Coordinate annual audits and budget establishment
- Collaborate with departments for process improvements
- Mentor and develop the accounting team for optimal performance
- Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, and client information
Position Requirements – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and US GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in reconciling complex accounts and payroll operations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to present financial information effectively to stakeholders
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum five years of relevant experience with increasing levels of responsibility and authority (some experience will include successful performance in a corporate or privately held environment)
- Minimum of three years experience supervising staff in all functions of accounting
- Minimum of three years experience managing corporate cash flow
