Architectural CAD Production Manager Summary
Our client is a successful architecture firm based in Rohnert Park, CA in search of an Architectural CAD Production Manager. The firm's areas of expertise include design, diagnostics, consulting, and project management of residential and commercial construction and renovation projects. The Architectural CAD Production Manager will perform architectural design of residential and commercial projects and management of document production using CAD and BIM systems.
Description
Key Responsibilities
Design:
- Generate architectural design concepts
- Apply an understanding of current materials and methods, along with good judgment, to solve design problems
- Perform field work including site investigation, existing facility inventory and field measured documentation
- Utilize knowledge of applicable building and zoning code standards, and incorporate relevant requirements into the project design
Collaboration:
- Assist Chief Architect and PM on various residential and commercial projects
- Alert Chief Architect and PM to changes of scope or additional services
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required
Document Production Management:
- Organization of documents with components from diverse sources including CAD, BIM, and other digitally-based formats
- Coordinate with project team members to manage procedures and schedules
- Develop architectural documentation to the level appropriate to the current phase of the project
- Generate and manage development of architectural design drawings
- Generate and manage CAD data
- Generate architectural presentation documents
- Generate reports of diagnostic findings
- Generate and coordinate all architectural and buildings systems, details, drawings and specifications
Requirements
Education:
- College degree (Bachelor of Architecture, BArch), OR
- Post-secondary school program certificate and experience in the architectural discipline for a combined total of 6+ years.
Performance Requirements:
- Experienced in all phases of architectural projects
- Proficiency in latest versions of: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, AutoCAD Architecture, Bluebeam, Acrobat, and Windows operating system
- Ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts
- Knowledgeable of current and legacy California Building Codes
- Ability to research and remain current on the latest construction materials and methods through review of periodicals and continuing education
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Ability and the desire to acquire Construction Documentation Technician (CDT) license within the first twelve months of employment

- $45 per hour
